The Internet has changed the way people buy things. It doesn’t matter if that purchase is a small ticket item or a larger ticket item like car parts. In fact, major online auction companies like eBay.com have an entire section devoted strictly to cars and car parts.

For the professional

If you are a professional searching for car parts, running an online search for “discount auto parts” or “wholesale auto parts” will yield a treasure trove of sites that offer huge discounts, free shipping, and great warranties for a minimum purchase. You can take advantage of these online stores which buy in bulk from the manufacturer and resell them at close-to-wholesale prices to you.

Automotive air conditioner basic troubleshooting tips.

If your automotive air conditioner isn’t working quite right, here are a few ideas to begin. First of all start with the control panel on your dashboard. Most automobiles have an A/C button that actually turns the compressor on and allows cold air to be circulated. You might have accidentally hit the recirculation button instead of the A/C button.

(Don’t laugh, I had a friend that spent a week in a hot car and all he needed to do was press the right button.) The second thing to check is the actual function of the controls. Do they move at all? Are they loose and giggle around?

A few easy steps to flush your automobile’s radiator and coolant system.

One of the most overlooked maintenance items on your car is the coolant system. Most people don’t even think about it until they are on the side of the road with the hood up and steam pouring out of the radiator. This traffic nightmare can be avoided by some simple routine maintenance. Your coolant system should be flushed every two years and the anti freeze replaced as well. The chemicals in anti freeze begin to lose their effectiveness and rust and grime can build up in your engine and radiator. This will clog up your engine’s cooling system and cause your engine to overheat. The good news is very little mechanical skills are needed to flush your system and keep your car running for the years to come. Just follow these simple steps:

10 Steps to Choosing the Right Vehicle

Step #1 : What Kind of Vehicle Do You Need?

Answer the following questions to help decide which kind of vehicle is right for you:

How many people will you be transporting?
How long is your commute?
What kind of gas mileage do you expect?
What conditions will you be driving in?
Which safety features do you want?
What size of vehicle do you want?
Do you want an automatic or manual transmission?

Adjustable Shocks for Your Vehicle

The Rancho RS999705 is the latest in automated shock control and is part of the myRIDE tuning system. This remote works with Rancho’s myRIDE family of shocks including the RS9000XL and quickLIFT. They call it myRIDE because it puts you in control of your ride.

The RS999705 is a hand-held device similar to an electric garage door opener, but what it can do for the ride control of your vehicle is amazing.

At the touch of a button, all four shocks can be custom-valved for street driving, towing, off-road driving, or anywhere in between. That’s all there is to it. Just push the button and go!

Doing A Complete Brake Repair Job

What is a “complete” brake job? It is a brake job that does not leave important things undone to save time and/or money. We are talking about things like rebuilding or replacing high mileage calipers and wheel cylinders, replacing disc and drum brake hardware, resurfacing or replacing drums and rotors, changing the brake fluid and bleeding all the lines, checking and adjusting the parking brake and even checking the ABS system.

Overlooking items such as these may have no immediate impact on how the brakes work, but it may at some point down the road. And that can often mean the difference between a brake job that lasts and one that does not or performs poorly.

Wheel Alignment

Wheel alignment refers to the geometrical relationship of the wheels to the vehicle itself, to each other and to the road. Ideally, all four wheels should be aimed straight ahead, parallel to each other, perpendicular to the road and perpendicular to their respective axles. This will produce the least amount of rolling resistance, the least amount of friction, the least amount of tire wear and the greatest traction. The basic alignment angles we’re talking about here are toe, camber and caster.

TOE ALIGNMENT

Toe is the most important wheel alignment angle because it has the greatest effect on tire wear. Toe refers to the parallelism between the wheels as viewed from above and is usually measured in inches or millimeters.
